Elaina Vayntrub, MD

Near the end of her residency, Dr. Vayntrub began to look into the field of bariatrics. It seemed to her to be a perfect fit with her passion for helping people--especially, she thought, if she could find a medical team whose collective passion matched her own. She found it at Barix Clinics.

That was the year 1999, and today she continues to work closely with the bariatric surgeon to care for patients before and after surgery. As an internist at Barix, she serves as many as 30 patients in one day.

Dr. Vayntrub displays a true selfless spirit that goes a long way towards explaining why her career has been so satisfying. “The change in people’s lives for the better,” she says, “has made it all worthwhile.”

Dr. Vayntrub now makes her home in Northville, Michigan. She enjoys spending time with her children, gardening, swimming, traveling, and scuba diving. She also volunteers for various activities in her community.
