Arthrodesis Foot

Arthrodesis or fusion of a joint may be necessary after an injury to a joint or with severe arthritis pain. The procedure involves the removal of the joint, screws or brackets to hold the two bones in place, fusion of the joint occurs as the bones heal together. There is no movement in the joint after the fusion.
