Arthrodesis Tarsometatarsal Foot Joint

Fusion of the tarsometatarsal joint (at the forefoot) is most often performed due to painful arthritis that is not responsive to non-surgical treatment. It may involve one or more joints. After the joint(s) is removed, screws are used to hold the bones in proper position, as the bones heal, they are fused together.
