Lumbar sympathetic block

Lumbar sympathetic block is used to alleviate leg pain caused by Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy syndrome (RSD), complex regional pain syndrome, and shingles. It involves an injection of anesthetic medication around the sympathetic nerves to block pain signals from reaching the brain.
