Bone graft

Bone graphs are used to fuse joints to prevent movement, repair broken bones that have bone loss, or to repair an injured bone that has not healed.  The bone graft is shaped and inserted into and around the area, providing the framework for the growth of new, living bone. The bone can come from another part of your body (autograph), from a bone bank (allograph) or synthetic bone can be used. It may be held in place with pins, plates, or screws.
