Dr. Taylor excelled as a surgeon from the start of his medical career.  He demonstrated his special skills with complex surgeries while treating trauma patients at a major Detroit hospital where he was selected to serve as chief resident. When he witnessed the positive impact bariatric surgery had on patients’ lives, he knew he wanted to focus his career in this rewarding field of surgery.  Dr. Taylor joined Barix Clinics to help patients transform their lives on a daily basis.  Many years and thousands of surgeries later, Dr. Taylor has become one of the finest bariatric surgeons in the world, with more successful Roux-en-y Gastric Bypass procedures to his credit than any other doctor.

 Dr. Taylor specializes in Laparoscopic and Open Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy, Adjustable Gastric Band, Revisional Bariatric, and Adjustable Gastric Band removal procedures.

Outside of work Dr. Taylor enjoys spending time with his family and children.  He enjoys cycling, reading and golf.  Dr. Taylor is committed to giving back by serving as a mentor and advisor to students pursuing a career in medicine at the University of Michigan.
